Vojcinakova Advances to the Finals at USTA Clay Court Championships

ORLANDO, Fla. – Ingrid Vojcinakova of ODU women’s tennis advanced to the Finals of the Garnet Draw at the 2015 USTA Clay Court Championships, after knocking off two of Virginia Tech’s top players on Saturday, with one of her victories being aired world-wide on ESPN 3. Vojcinakova is now a perfect 4-0 this weekend at the prestigious tournament held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando.

Vojcinakova will look to claim the coveted finals championship on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. EST, when she will take on Fernanda Navarro, a freshman from Clemson.

In the Quarterfinals against Virginia Tech’s Raluca Mita on Saturday, which aired live in HD on ESPN 3, it was Vojcinakova who pulled out the straight set victory (6-3, 7-5), placing ODU’s junior from ?ilina, Slovakia in the Semifinals.

The Semifinals turned out to be a marathon match, in which No. 4 seeded Carolina Daxhelet stood in Vojcinakova’s way. Vojcinakova dropped the first set 5-7; however, won the second set 7-6(6) and then the all-important third set in tiebreak fashion 7-6(5).
