IRVING, Texas – Old Dominion women’s soccer forward Iris Achterhof was tabbed Conference USA Freshman of the Year for the 2015 season, while also earning a spot on the All C-USA Second Team, as well as garnering a spot on the All-Freshman Team. ODU’s Kathryn Hill was named to the All-Conference USA Third Team.

Iris Achterhof of Old Dominion was tabbed the C-USA Freshman of the Year following a stellar rookie season. Achterhof finished among the top-10 in the league for all players in points (16, t-10th), goals (6, t-9th) and assists (4, t-10th). She recorded a hat trick, accounting for all three Lady Monarch goals in a 3-1 win over George Mason. Achterhof ended the regular season, leading Old Dominion in goals, assists, points and gamewinners. Achterhof was also voted onto Second-Team All-C-USA and the All-Conference USA Freshman Team.

ODU junior defender Kathryn Hill has made an instant impact for Angie Hind and the Lady Soccer Monarchs, earning a spot on the All-Conference USA Third Team. Prior to Sunday, Hill played every single minute for ODU, anchoring the back line against some of the top teams in the country. As a defender, Hill scored one goal, dished out three assists and is currently ODU’s sixth leading point scorer. Hill was instrumental in ODU’s three shutouts and 11 matches allowing just one goal or less. She has played a crucial role in leading ODU to a 5-4-1 record in C-USA play, which earned the program its first ever Conference USA Tournament appearance.

Coaches also selected an All-Conference USA second and third team as well as an All-Freshman squad.
