IRVING, TEXAS - Old Dominion University senior safety Fellonte Misher was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Saturday.
Misher recorded seven tackles and two interceptions in ODU's 31-21 victory over UTEP on Saturday. His first interception set up Jeremy Cox's 42-yard touchdown run and his second INT clinched the ODU win.
A native of Washington, D.C., Misher is the second Monarchs defensive player to earn C-USA defensive honors, joining linebacker TJ Ricks who received the honor when he set a single-game record with 18 tackles in the win over Charlotte.
Misher and the Monarchs travel to Southern Miss on Saturday for a 3:30 EST kickoff that will be broadcast on ASN.
