AUBURN, Ala. – The ODU women’s soccer team (1-3-0) will remain on the road to take on No. 11 Auburn on Sunday for a 3 p.m. contest. Sunday’s showdown with Auburn can be viewed live in HD through ESPN 3 via the SEC Network Digital Network (link is above).

Following the contest, the Lady Monarchs remain on the road for two more games next week, as William & Mary (RV) and No. 1 Virginia will play host to ODU next Friday and Sunday, respectively.

ODU comes into Sunday’s game after dropping a hard fought battle, 1-0, at Liberty on Thursday afternoon.

The Lady Monarchs are led by Iris Achterhof, a freshman who has already racked up three goals in her young career including two scores in the win over Canisius. Madison Hogan has also placed a ball in the net for the Lady Monarchs and also added one assist to her credit. Freshman Kira Laurento and junior transfer Kathryn Hill have also got on the board for ODU this season, each netting one goal apiece.

Defensively, junior goalkeeper Erin Kinz has played all 90 minutes of all four games thus far for ODU, compiling a clean sheet in the win over Canisius and recording 13 saves on the year.

The Auburn Tigers (4-0-0) enter Sunday’s competition with an unblemished record (pending Friday night’s result against Samford) and have not allowed in a single goal yet this season. Auburn most recently blanked Furman 2-0 after routing UAB 4-0 last weekend.

The Tigers’ high-powered scoring attack is led by junior forward Casie Ramsier, who has tallied three goals already to her credit. Her twin sister, Brooke, is Auburn’s second leading scorer, having netted two goals on the season. In 2014, Casie was an All-SEC Second-Team Selection after receiving SEC All-Freshman Team honors in 2013.

Auburn’s stingy defense is backed by freshman goalkeeper Sarah Le Beau, who has yet to surrender a single score in her young college career. She has started all four games for the Tigers and has made 11 saves.

Karen Hoppa is at the forefront of the prolific Auburn Tigers soccer program, having served as head coach for 17 years after a five-year stint at the helm of the Central Florida women’s soccer team. She has led the Tigers to 13 NCAA appearances, seven SEC West titles and the SEC Tournament crown in 2011. Hoppa has compiled a career record of 247-170-40 as a head coach.
