NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion women’s basketball junior forward Odegua Oigbokie sustained a left knee injury during a preseason team skill session that will keep her sidelined for the upcoming 2015-16 season.
“Odegua is a wonderful kid who helps our team in so many ways” head coach Karen Barefoot said. “She is a great player and teammate and we will all rally around her and give her plenty of support throughout this process. Odegua works very hard and I am confident she will be 100% ready for next season.”
In 2014-15, Oigbokie made an appearance in all 34 games, starting in nine. She averaged 4.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest, while ranking third on the team in field-goal percentage (42.4). She poured in a career high of 12 points on three different occasions, while hauling down three or more rebounds in a total of 20 contests.
Oigbokie will undergo surgery to repair her injury in the coming weeks.
