GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Old Dominion women’s golf team sits in second place out of 17 teams at the Lady Pirate Invitational after two rounds of action, with the third and final round set to begin tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. The Lady Monarchs’ Maggie Simmermacher is currently in a three-way tie for second place after shooting 73, 74 (+2) on the day.
East Carolina, the host school of the tournament, is in first place after collectively shooting 297, 298=595 (+19) through two rounds of golf. Old Dominion remains just one point behind in second place with scores of 300, 296=596 (20). Finally, William & Mary rounds out the top three with a score of 312, 300=612 (36).
Individually, ODU’s 2015 C-USA Freshman of the Year Maggie Simmermacher is tied for second place with Taylor Dodson of Gardner Webb and Tan Cheeranont of High Point. William & Mary’s Alessandra Liu is in sole possession of first place after shooting 72, 70 (-3) on the afternoon.
ODU freshman Charlotte De Corte and junior Rachel Walker are tied for ninth place out of the 90 participants while Katerina Vlasinova is tied for 14th place.
The Lady Monarchs will conclude the Lady Pirate Invitational tomorrow with round three of action, which is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m.
