NORFOLK, Va. -- Freshman keeper Kealsie Robles picked up her second BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week award on Monday afternoon, while also earning Rookie of the Week honors.
Robles stopped nine shots over the weekend, with seven coming in the 3-2 win over No. 19 James Madison and she finished with a 1.55 goals-against-average over two games. She has recorded a 1.98 goals-against average and 20 saves over the course of the season.
She currently ranks 32nd in the nation in goals-against average, which also ranks fourth in the league. Her win-loss percentage (.677) also sits second in the BIG EAST and 20th in the country among 72 other goal keepers.
The Lady Monarchs return to the L.R. Hill Sports Complex on Friday, when they host their first BIG EAST game of the season against Temple. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m. and the contest will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
