WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – ODU freshman Nataliya Vlasova was named to the All-Tournament Team this weekend, as the Old Dominion University women’s team played in the Tribe Invite, which was the team’s first competition of the 2015 fall season. The tournament was hosted by William and Mary.

Scoring
The scoring format for the Tribe Invitational followed the new NCAA and ITA no-ad scoring. Doubles contests played to six games with a tiebreaker at six-all. Singles were best 2 out of 3 full sets. All singles and doubles matches used no-ad scoring, a scoring method in which the first player to reach four points wins the game. No-ad scoring eliminates the requirement that a player must win by two points. Therefore, if the game was tied at deuce, the next player to win a point won the game. If the score reached deuce the receiver chose from which side of the court she received.
Format
The Invitational had a team style of play for the second straight year with each team competing in three singles and three doubles matches over the three days. Doubles matches took place on Friday and Saturday, meaning each team competed in two doubles matches on one of the two days. One singles match was played for each team on every day of the event.
