NORFOLK, Va. – Freshman forward Chrissy Horn has been named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
In the Monarchs’ 5-2 triumph versus William & Mary, Horn tallied two assists in a span of 5:56 in the second half. With her second two assist outing, the freshman paces ODU with four assists on the year and ranks second in the conference and 15th in the nation in assists per game.
Senior midfielder Sarah Breen was also named to the player of the week honor roll. Notching her first hat trick of the year, Breen scored all three goals off of penalty corners, and is currently four points away from the century mark for her career.
The Lady Monarchs will be back in action this weekend when they travel to the state of North Carolina to take on No. 12 Wake Forest and No. 4 Duke. ODU will face the Demon Deacons on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and the Blue Devils on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
