ODUSports.com reports daily on Old Dominion football practice and one of the features will be a Q&A with a student-athlete. Today's Q&A is with true freshman defensive end, Tim Ward.

Q: Why did you choose Old Dominion?
A: It just felt like the right place for me. They just really made me feel at home.

Q: What is your favorite thing about Hampton Roads?
A: The beach is my favorite place to be. I would have to say having Virginia Beach right here is the best part.

Q: What is your major?
A: I am undecided right now, but I am leaning towards criminal justice. It’s really interesting.

Q: When did you start playing football?
A: I started when I was nine years old.

Q: What got you into football?
A: My parents got me into it. I used to just play basketball, but they decided to put me in football too. I loved it ever since.

Q: Have you always played defensive end?
A: I actually started playing defensive end my senior year in high school. I always played outside linebacker before then.

Q: How/why did you decide to enroll at ODU early?
A: It seemed like a cool thing to do to help me get a jump with school and workouts. It was nice to get that college experience a little early.

Q: What sports did you play growing up?
A: I played football, basketball, and a little bit of baseball.

Q: Who is your role model?
A: I would have to say my dad. He has taught me a lot of great character traits.

Q: Favorite food?
A: Enchiladas are my favorite.

Q: Favorite movie?
A: I’d have to say the Incredibles.

Q: Favorite music artist?
A: I would say Young Scooter.

Q: What’s on your iPod?
A: I have mostly rap, and a little bit of rock and roll.

Q: Favorite NFL team?
A: I like the Indianapolis Colts.

Q: What would your superpower be and why?
A: I would want to fly because I’d never have to wait in traffic and never have to walk.

Q: Hidden talents?
A: I’m a pretty good cook. Well, at least I would say I’m a pretty good cook.

Q: What is something people do not know about you?
A: I actually like to read a good bit.

Q: Favorite athlete?
A: I would say Michael Jordan.

Q: Favorite part of gameday?
A: I would say just being with the guys and preparing for the game. I just like sitting there thinking about what I’m going to do.

Q: Famous person you hope to meet?
A: Michael Jordan would be my answer for that one, too.

Q: Pregame rituals?
A: I usually just like to put on my headphones and listen to music before the game.

Q: Favorite actor/actress?
A: My favorite actor would be Will Smith.
