PORTLAND, Ore. – Old Dominion University women’s golfer Maggie Simmermacher made the cut at the U.S. Women’s Amateur held at the Portland Golf Club on Tuesday after finishing tied for 41st place after two rounds of stroke play. She currently holds a +3 (147) score for 36 holes.

Simmermacher, a rising sophomore at ODU who was named C-USA Freshman of the Year and also earned First Team All C-USA honors, fired a 73 (+1) in round one and a 74 (+2) in round two.

The 2015 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship is open to female amateur golfers with a Handicap Index® not exceeding 5.4. It consists of 36 holes of stroke play followed by six rounds of match play, with the championship schedule to conclude with a 36-hole final on Sunday, Aug. 16.

The match-play rounds of the 2015 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1. Coverage will be form 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. EDT on August 12-16. Additionally, bonus coverage will be live streamed on usga.org on August 13 and August 16 from Noon to 2 p.m. EDT.

Simmermacher, who is representing her native country of Argentina, will take on Elizabeth Tong of Canada at 4:40 p.m. EDT.
