ODUSports.com reports daily on Old Dominion football practice and one of the features will be a Q&A with a student-athlete. Today's Q&A is with sophomore offensive tackle, Darius Garcia.
Q: Why did you choose Old Dominion?
A: It was really close to home, and my family could come and watch me play. Throughout the whole recruiting process Coach Dee and the rest of the staff showed a lot of love, so it was a no-brainer.
Q: What is your major?
A: Sport management
Q: When did you start playing football?
A: Third grade
Q: What got you into football?
A: My cousins and my whole my family are athletes, and I was always a big kid so I started playing football. I loved watching it and playing it. It’s all I ever did.
Q: What is your favorite part about playing offensive line?
A: I like the pass blocking. I like dictating where kids go by using quick hands.
Q: When did you realize you could/wanted to play at the next level?
A: Halfway through my junior year I started picking up a lot of recruiting, and I started realizing I might be kind of good at this football thing.
Q: What sport did you play growing up?
A: I played basketball.
Q: Who is your role model?
A: My father. He works 70 hours a week and is just very hard working. Anything I’ve ever asked for he’s never had a problem giving it to me.

A: Pizza

A: J. Cole
Q: What’s on your iPod?
A: J. Cole, Future, some EDM, and a little R&B.

A: Pittsburgh Steelers
Q: What would your superpower be and why?
A: I’d be superfast. A big guy that fast would be dangerous.
Q: What is something people do not know about you?
A: I’m half Hispanic.
Q: Favorite athlete?
A: Maurkice Pouncey, center for the Steelers.
Q: One place you want to travel to?
A: Brazil to see all the beautiful women.

A: Going through the tunnel.
