NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University football held their third practice of the fall and first in shoulder pads on Wednesday.

The practice last just over two hours and featured several highlights.

  • Shuler Bentley to David Washington for 20 yards to start things off for the offense.
  • A good day for the running backs, as Ray Lawry ripped off a couple of 15-yard runs and freshman Kesean Strong burst off the right side for a gain of 30 yards.
  • Fellonte Misher had a good day on the defensive side, deflecting a pass at the goalline and intercepting a deep ball in the end zone.
  • Freshman defensive lineman made the play of the day, intercepting a screen pass for the defenses third turnover of the day. Another freshman, Denzel Williams, forced a fumble that was recovered by the defense.
  • Colin McElroy hit a diving Eri'Reon Hayes for a 12-yard touchdown pass at the end of practice.
