Murhof, AUSTRIA – Old Dominion University women’s golf incoming freshman Charlotte De Corte finished tied for eighth at the International European Ladies' Amateur Championship at the Murhof Golf Club in Austria.
A native of Belgium, De Corte fired off scores of 70-71-68-72 (281) on her way to a seven under par (-7) total for the four days. For the tournament, she compiled 17 birdies and 46 pars. De Corte’s final tally was just eight strokes shy of the eventual champion Maria Parra Luque of Spain, who turned in a -15 for the weekend.
The International European Ladies Amateur Championship was first played in 1986 and has since been held annually. The tournament is organized by the European Golf Association and is one of the elite tournaments in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
In June, De Corte advanced to the semifinals of match play in the prestigious Ladies British Open Amateur Championship at Portstewart Golf Club in Northern Ireland.
