NORFOLK, Va. – Throughout the summer, ODUSports continues to introduce the women’s soccer incoming class of 2015, this week’s newest addition is five-foot four-inch forward/midfielder, Kyra Alexander of Reston, Va.
“I am very excited to have Kyra join our soccer program,” said ODU head coach Angie Hind. “She is a very dynamic type of player that I believe has the qualities and versatility to impact a few different positions. Her attacking instincts make her a threat in the final third and I know her work rate defensively can fit in very well to our style of play. I believe the athleticism that Kyra possesses, along with her creative qualities can really add to our current squad and I am very excited to have her join our Lady Monarch family.”
As an honor student, Alexander attended Bishop O’Connell High School, where she helped lead the school to a state championship appearance in 2013-14, while serving as a team captain. She was named First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Metro in 2014. Alexander played club soccer for PWSI 96 Red Courage.
“I fell in love with the campus, people and coaches when I made my visit to Old Dominion,” Alexander said. “I am looking forward to competing at the highest level and helping the Lady Monarchs win a C-USA title.”
