NORFOLK, Va. – Head men’s tennis coach Aljosa Piric announced right-handed Aziz Kijametovic from Bosnia and Herzegovina as the newest addition to the Tennis Monarchs team for the 2015-16 season today.

“We are excited to add Aziz to our team next season,” said Piric. “He will fit perfectly within our team’s culture. He brings the necessary passion for the game and work ethic that will allow him to reach his full potential here at ODU. He will be a high impact student-athlete for our tennis program and we can’t wait to start working with him.”

Coach Piric, who like Kijametovic is also is a native of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was tabbed to help out the 2014 Bosnia and Herzegovina Davis Cup national team in December of 2013. Piric has been involved with his home country’s national program since 2000. In an impressive showing on April 10, while serving as team captain, Piric’s Bosnian squad defeated Finland in the quarterfinals of group play in thrilling 3-2 fashion.

Kijametovic’s best ITF world junior ranking was No. 251, while his best ATP ranking was No. 1,967. His best wins include taking down the likes of five different top-45 ITF ranked players throughout his career.
