ODU is just 12 points behind third place Boston College while Yale is in first and Stanford is in second.
The Division A squad of Andrea Luna, Grace Mason and Cady Johnson took third place with six top-fives and one race win.
The Division B team of Sarah Streater and Katelyn Talley finished in ninth on day one with a win in the first race of the day.
Racing begins tomorrow at 10 a.m.
