NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion women’s basketball assistant coach Richard Fortune has been hired as an assistant by VCU, as announced by ODU head coach Karen Barefoot on Wednesdayafternoon.
“I just want to thank Richard for his positive energy, dedication and work ethic to our program the past three years,” said Barefoot. “He was a part of the rebuilding stage with our program and assisted in expanding recruiting areas as our recruiting coordinator. I wish him and his family all the best in years to come.”
Fortune also assisted in strength and conditioning, academics and guard skill development while at ODU. During his three-season tenure at Old Dominion, the Lady Monarchs compiled a 58-41 overall record and three WNIT appearances.
