NORFOLK, Va. – Junior midfielder Ashmore Standing of the Old Dominion lacrosse team was recently named the Atlantic-Sun Player of the Week for her performance during the week of April 12-18.

Standing earns her first weekly honor after she led the Monarchs to a 16-9 win over Detroit, putting the ODU team in great position to enter the Atlantic-Sun Tournament as the No. 2 seed. She paced the offense with a career-high six goals and added two assists, marking just the 10th time this season an A-Sun player has recorded eight or more points in a game.

She scored her six goals on nine shots for a 66.7 shooting percentage and also added a ground ball and a caused turnover to her stat line. She currently leads the team with 60 points with a conference-leading 43 goals to go along with her 17 assists. She also ranks fifth in the league with 21 caused turnovers and 19th with 24 ground balls.

The Monarchs will enter their last regular season game this weekend with a five-game winning streak, as they travel to Washington, D.C. for a matchup with the Howard Bison. Game time is set to start on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
