FORT MYERS, FL—ODU freshman Maggie Simmermacher (Buenos Aires, Argentina) is tied for ninth after shooting an even par 72 and fellow freshman Katerina Vlasinova (Trebic, Czech Republic) is tied for 15th at (+1) 73 after one round of the Conference USA Women’s Golf Championships at the Verandah Club.
Simmermacher, the three-time C-USA Golfer of the Week trails first round leader Samantha Gotcher (68) of Middle Tennessee by just four strokes as she had five birdies on the day, shooting 36 on the front and back. Vlasinova had four birdies on the day, as she went 37 on the front and 36 on the back.
