GREENBRIER, WVA -- ODU senior Jamison Randall (Cumberland, RI.) finished tied for ninth just four strokes behind the champion of the Greenbrier Collegiate Invitational at the Old White TPC Course at Greenbrier. As a team, the Monarchs tied for fifth in the 13-team tournament. Today’s final round was cancelled after a 1 hour and 30 minute rain and lightning delay.
ODU finished with a 283-288=571 and tied for third with Marshall and Ohio University. The trio finished only five strokes back of tournament leader East Tennessee State (566) and four strokes back of second place Eastern Kentucky.
Randall finished behind co-leaders Gudmund Kristjansson of ETSU (137), Jonathan Dilanni of Elon (137) and Jared Brow of Eastern Kentucky (137). Ashton Newsom (Chesapeake, VA.) finished with a 70-74=144 for 17th, followed by Seth Sweet of Madison, ME. (71-74=145) and Pedro Junqueira from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (74-71-145) who tied for 21st.
The Monarchs compete in the Conference USA Championships, April 26-29 at Texarkana Country Club in Texarkana, AR.
