SAN ANTONIO, TX – The Roadrunners of UTSA took game two of the doubleheader with an 8-2 victory over Old Dominion. ODU was led by freshman outfielder Justin Hayes with three hits and an RBI, while Kurt Sinnen and Josh Eldridge had two hits each. UTSA won the opener 7-6 in 13 innings.
UTSA took the early lead when Jesse Baker hit his 10th homer of the season with Skyler Valentine aboard in the third for a 2-0 lead. Geonte Jackson and Skyler Valentine led the Roadrunners with two hits each on the night.
ODU go on the board in the fifth inning when Justin Hayes singled home Jason McMurray. Eldridge singled home Hayes in the eighth for the Monarchs second run.
The third and final game of the series will be Saturday at 12 noon because of weather approaching the San Antonio area.
