IRVING, Texas – Old Dominion University diver Rachel Eckert was named the Conference USA Diver of the Year, C-USA announced on Wednesday. The voting was conducted by the league’s coaches.
A senior from Rochester, N.Y., Eckert became the first Old Dominion diver to qualify for the NCAA Championships when she placed third at the NCAA Zones in the 3-meter dive and sixth in the 1-meter dive.
Eckert became the first C-USA Diver not from the University of Houston to win the 1 and 3-meter dives in the same year. By completing that, she was named the C-USA Diver of the Year for the C-USA Swimming and Diving Championships.
She graduates as the ODU record holder in both the 1 and 3-meter dives.
