NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University Sailing finished fifth and sixth in the ODU Open this weekend while finishing ninth at the Bob Bavier Team Races in Charleston, S.C.
The Monarchs split into two teams and earned fifth and sixth place. The fifth place team featured Ethan Lounsbury, Carter Little, Jason Bankert and Anne Van Der Sanger. The Division A team of Little and Lounsbury finished sixth, earning five top-five places. The Division B team of Bankert and Van Der Sanger also placed sixth, taking seven top-five finishes.
The team of Andrew Baird, Kira Baffa, Alec Chicoine and Jocelyn Rovniak finished one place behind in sixth. The Division A team of Baird and Baffa placed ninth with a pair of top-five finishes. The Division B team of Chicoine and Rovniak earned a second place spot with eight top-fives and two race wins.
ODU placed ninth in the team races at the Bob Bavier Team Races, going 2-7 in nine races.
