STOCKBRIDGE, GA--The ODU Lady Monarch golfers led by freshman Maggie Simmermacher's (Buenos Aires, Argentina) 74 in the first round are tied for second after one round of the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate at the Eagles Landing Country Club.
Simmermacher is tied for ninth just three strokes behind Jeanette Petersen of Morehead State. As a team, ODU's team 304 is just two strokes back of Troy. Statistically, Simmermacher is tied for first with four birdies and is second in par 3 scoring (2.75/-1).
Sophomore Rachel Walker (Dumfries, Scotland) fired a 75 and is 17th, just four shots back. Walker along with Charlotte Hindmoor (Darlington, England) are third in the tournament with 13 total pars after the first round.
