Spring Football Recap - Day Six

NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University football held its first scrimmage of the spring on Saturday afternoon at Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium.

The offense produced several big plays, starting out the day with a 15 yard run by Ray Lawry and a 30-yard completion from Shuler Bentley to David Washington.

Bentley followed with a 20-yard completion to Zach Pascal and later tossed a 20-yard touchdown to Melvin Vaughn.

A plethora of ODU running backs had good days as Jeremy Cox and Nick Ferrari-Smith ran for touchdowns while Cox later ripped off a 30-yard run while Brandon Simmons added a 20-yard run.

Oshane Ximines highlighted the defense with a sack while Aquante Thornton pulled down an interception.

The scrimmage was the sixth practice of the spring for the Monarchs and the first scrimmage. ODU will be back on the field on Tuesday.
