NORFOLK, Va. - Over the next few weeks ODUSports will introduce the women’s soccer incoming class of 2015 with a weekly profile, this week’s newest addition is five-foot six-inch defender Madison Morningstar from Woodbridge, Va.

“I am delighted to add Madison to our incoming class for 2015,” said ODU head coach Angie Hind. “She is a very talented defender who can play either on the outside or centrally. She has great athletic potential and has good experience playing with a very strong club team. Throughout the recruiting process, she has shown a true desire to want to be part of ODU women’s soccer and contribute towards the future direction of the program. I am delighted to welcome Madison to ODU and am very excited to begin working with her as part of our developing team.”

Morningstar is currently a senior on the soccer team at Woodbridge High School, where she has played varsity soccer all four years (2012-2015). In 2013, she was named to the All District First Team and was honorable mention for All Region.

Morningstar was a State Cup Champion with Courage 96 Red in 2009 and 2011, as well as a State Cup semifinalist in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

“I chose Old Dominion because I heard a lot of good things about the school and the program,” explained Morningstar. “With Coach Hind trying to build the team up, I felt special being one of the first recruits for her uprising team. I’m most looking forward to being with my new teammates, becoming a better player and winning.”
