Throughout spring football practice, ODUSports.com will do a Q&A with a member of the ODU Football team.  Today's Q&A is with redshirt-freshman defensive tackle, Ryan Londree.

Q: Why did you choose Old Dominion?
A: I just liked the school and how everything was set up. I liked the coaches, they brought me in and I felt like I was part of the family here. Plus it is not that far from where I am from.

Q: How long have you been playing football?
A: I started my freshman year of high school.

Q: What made you get started in the sport?
A: I just gave it a try. Everyone wanted me to try out so I just tried out and went with it from there.

Q: Who in your life has pushed you to where you are and helped you become the person you are today?
A: I would have to say a coach of mine, Coach Brown. He informed me a lot about college sports and pushed me to become stronger and better every day in the sport. My high school coaches, Coach Alley and Coach Gallagher both told me I had the potential to play college level football.  Their words encouraged me to keep pushing so that I can become better. My mother also pushed me because she wants me to do very well; that encourages me to continue working hard.

Q: Have you always played as a defensive tackle?
A: In high school I actually played as a defensive end and on the offensive side of the ball I played left tackle and a little bit of guard. I didn’t start playing defensive tackle until my senior year.

Q: How does it feel to get back into spring football, put the pads on and get to hit people?
A: It feels good. I mean my body has changed now, and I wanted to see how I can perform now that my body is different.

Q: What was it like for you having to redshirt last year?
A: It wasn’t that good at first, but as the season went on I knew I needed to redshirt so that I could get stronger and faster, and I just took the time to get more prepared for this season coming up and prepare myself for Division 1 football.

Q: What is your favorite TV show or series?
A: I actually have a lot that I like but I have to go with the Fresh Prince of Bel Air as my favorite TV show. Some others are Friday Night Tights it is about a Pop Warner football team in Texas and Impractical Jokers. I like that TV show as well.

Q: What game on the upcoming 2015 schedule are you most looking forward to?
A: The first home game should be exciting. That is what I’m looking forward to. Just see the atmosphere of the fans and see how they support us when we come out of the tunnel.

Q: What on game day, other than running out of the tunnel, are you most looking forward too?
A: Just hearing the fans cheer and hearing the support around us and the atmosphere created during the games. That is what I want to see.

Q: What is your favorite food?
A: I’d have to say tacos. I really like tacos.

Q: Who is your favorite super hero?
A: I have to say Spiderman.

Q: Toby Maguire or Andrew Garfield?
A:  Andrew Garfield because he is funnier.

Q: If you could have a super power what would it be?
A: I would say the ability to fly.

Q: What are the top three movies you always have to watch?
A: Space Jam, the Friday series, and The Rangers.

Q: What is one piece of advice that the upper classmen gave you to help get you where you are at now?
A:  They’ve encouraged me to continue improving at my techniques and listening to the coaches so that I can succeed.
