Old Dominion senior OF Josh Eldridge picks up Conference USA Hitter of the Week accolades after notching 15 hits, including five extra-base hits in six games last week, which included a win at No. 1 Virginia. The C-USA Pitcher of the Week honors are being shared by ODU senior RHP Greg Tomchick, who carried a perfect game into the seventh inning at WKU and UTSA junior RHP Brock Hartson, who scattered four hits over 8.1 innings in a road win at Marshall.
Eldridge reached base 17 times last week, notching 15 hits in the six games, which included a 14-5 victory at No. 1 Virginia. He doubled four times and hit a home run, while registering multiple hits in five of the six outings. Eldridge had three hits in wins over Bryant and Virginia before going 4-for-4 in the series-opening victory at WKU. He drove in three runs on the week, while scoring nine times, including at least once in five outings. Eldridge batted .636 (7-for-11) in the WKU series with three runs scored.
Tomchick carried a perfect game into the seventh inning at WKU on March 14 before allowing a solo home run for his only hit allowed. He finished the game with nine strikeouts and one walk over seven complete innings to earn his second win of the season.
Hartson hurled a season-high 8.1 shutout innings to lead the Roadrunners to a 2-0 conference-opening victory at Marshall on March 13. He scattered four hits and struck out six batters to earn his first victory of the 2015 season.
