CHARLESTON, S.C. – Old Dominion University Sailing opened the 2015 spring season in Charleston and Palo Alto this weekend.
The women’s squad finished ninth in their season opener at the Charleston Women’s Race.
The Division A team of Andrea Luna and Colin Voigt finished in ninth place while Sarah Streater and Cady Johnson were 10th in Division B. Luna and Voigt had five top-five finishes on the day with Streater and Johnson earning two, including a win in race 10.
The Monarchs finished seventh at the McIntyre Team Race at Stanford with a 3-5 race record.
ODU scored wins over Northwestern, UC Irvine and Santa Barbara. The skippers for the day were Joseph David, Augie Dale and Daniel Lochner while the crew featured Kaylie Gallagher, Katelyn Talley and Grace Mason.
