NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University swimming split a tri-meet topping St. Andrews and falling to Duke Saturday afternoon at the J.C. Scrap Chandler Pool in Norfolk.
Bernardo Figuiredo got the first ODU win with a victory in the 1000 freestyle in a time of 9:40.67.
Vitor Sa added to the win total with a triumph in the 200 free with a time of 1:40.98. Sa added his second win of the day in the 100 free with a time of 46.53.
Reed Mathews continued his solid season in the 200 fly with a win in a time of 1:49.74 and a second victory in the 100 fly in a time of 49.90.
Figuiredo added his second win of the day, this one in the 500 free with a time of 4:39.04.
Julia Vido earned the first win of the day for the Lady Monarchs with a win in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:04.20. Vido notched her second win of the day in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:20.54.
Rachel Eckert won the 3-meter dive with a score of 309.30 and finished second in the 1-meter dive.
Sophomore Victoria Barley was victorious in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.16 while Raquel Couto finished in second place.
The Lady Monarchs ended the meet with a win in the 400 free relay as Savannah Bowers, Stephanie Norris, Morgan Johnson and Collen VandePoel won in a time of 3:33.85.
