NORFOLK, Va. – On Friday, Old Dominion head coach Angie Hind announced the newest addition to the Lady Monarchs soccer roster for 2015, Kathryn Hill (North Ayrshire, Scotland). Hill has represented Scotland in three European qualification phases and has played a total of 19 times for her country.
“I am delighted to have Kathryn join our program,” said Hind. “Her playing background speaks for itself considering her involvement at national level and being recognized as one of the most talented young players in Scotland currently. She has the technical ability, athleticism and game knowledge to really help strengthen our team and the versatility to play in either midfield or defense.
Hill reigns from Garnock Academy in North Ayrshire, Scotland. She is transferring from Strathclyde University in Glasgow where she was studying biochemistry and immunology.
Hill played for Rangers Football Club at both youth and senior levels and was instrumental in Rangers FC finishing in runner-up position in the Scottish Women’s Premier League this year.
“As we look to really push forward with our program it is key that we can attract elite level players,” concluded Hind. “I believe Kathryn has the winning mentality, talent, and commitment to excellence that will contribute greatly towards creating a winning culture for our program.”
