CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Old Dominion rowing team concluded its fall competition by competing in the Rivanna Romp, hosted by the University of Virginia, on Sunday morning on the Rivanna Reservoir.
Rowing programs from Clemson, Columbia, Duke, Louisville, Penn, Oklahoma, also competed, along with the host Cavaliers.
In the varsity 8 competition, the ODU “A” boat placed the highest, finishing in 21st place with a time of 14:57.7. The ODU “B” boat was not far behind, as the 2V finished just behind the V8 in 22nd place (15:09.4). The “C” boat rounded out the results, claiming a 24th place finish in a time of 15:59.8.
The V4 “A” had a successful showing the in the varsity four race, finishing in 19th place out of 37 boats. The boat finished in a time of 16:10.0. The “B” boat recorded a 28th place finish after completing the course in a time of 16:36.8.
This marked the fifth and final regatta for ODU during the fall season. Old Dominion’s spring competition begins on March 21 at the ODU Invite against North Carolina in Norfolk, Va.
