NORFOLK, VA—Old Dominion Univeristy senior forward Richard Ross (Wichita Falls, Tx.) and red-shirt sophomore guard Ambrose Mosley (Jacksonville, FL.) each scored 17 points to lead the Monarchs to a 76-61 exhibition win over Mount Olive Monday night at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. Junior guard Keenan Palmore (Stone Mountain, GA.) also scored double figures with 13 points.

In addition to 17 points, Ross hauled down a game high nine rebounds, while Mosley went five-for-10 from three-point range and grabbed six rebounds along with two steals. Sophomore forward Denzell Taylor (Ontario, Canada) and junior forward Nik Biberaj (Fairfax Station, VA.) each grabbed six rebounds, while junior guard Trey Freeman (Virginia Beach, VA.) dished out four assists in addition to his eight points tonight. Taylor, senior Aaron Bacote (Hampton, Va.) and sophomore Jordan Baker (Hampton, VA.) had three assists each.

ODU shot .483 (28-58) from the floor, while Mount Olive was .400 (18-45). The Monarchs outrebounded the Trojans, 49-30. Mount Olive was led by Dominique Reed, Dontrell Brite and JaQuan Blount with 11 points each.

The Monarchs open the regular season Saturday night at 7 p.m. against former CAA rival UNC Wilmington at the Constant Center.
