HOUSTON, Texas – The Lady Monarchs have taken a result in five of their last six matches entering this weekend’s pair of conference road gamesagainst second place Rice (Fri., Oct. 24 at 8:00 p.m. EST) and then league leading North Texas (Sun., Oct. 26 at 2:00 p.m. EST).
MEET THE LADY MONARCHS (4-7-4, 3-2-2)
Old Dominion is currently in a tie for seventh place with Marshall in the Conference USA standings. With three games remaining on the schedule, the C-USA will take the top eight out of 14 teams to compete in the 2014 Conference USA Championships on Nov. 5-Nov. 9 in Charlotte, N.C.
The Lady Monarchs have compiled 11 points in their last six matches behind sophomore forward Madison Hogan’s team leading 14 points and six goals (1 GW). Senior co-captain forward Jessie Klamut has netted five goals (2 GW) and dished out two assists. Old Dominion enters the weekend with a RPI of 133.

13 out of Old Dominion’s 15 total matches so far this season have been decided by just one goal or less. A total of eight ODU games this season have gone to overtime, with four of the last six matches requiring at least one extra period.
MEET RICE – Friday, October 24 at 8:00 p.m. EST in Houston (8-3-3, 4-2-1)
Winners of five of their last eight matches (with one tie as well), the Owls are 6-0-3 while playing at home this season.
Rice’s scoring duo of Holly Hargreaves and Lauren Hughes have given opposing teams fits this season, combining for 38 points on 15 goals and eight assists.
The Owls are currently the No. 7 ranked team in the Central Region according to the NSCAA. The Owls have taken a league-leading 125 corners (8.93 avg). Rice currently posses a league-leading RPI of 75.
MEET NORTH TEXAS – Sunday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m. EST in Denton (11-4-1, 5-1-1)
NT is receiving votes in the most recent NSCAA/Continental Tire Top 25 Poll, while being ranked No. 7 in the Central Region by the NSCAA. The Mean Green are winners of four of their last six (with one tie mixed in) and are 8-3-0 on their own pitch this season.
Goalkeeper Jackie Kerestine leads the conference in shutouts (9), save percentage (.884) and goals against average (.610). Kerestine is ranked seventh nationally in save percentage.
Forward Karla Pineda leads the Mean Green with 20 points on seven goals (3 GW) and is tied for a C-USA best with six assists. North Texas has compiled a RPI of 81, which is second best in Conference USA, behind only Rice.
