GREENVILLE, NC— Old Dominion University freshman Maggie Simmermacher (Buenos Aires, Argentina)is at even par 144 after shooting 72 in both the first and second rounds and is alone in third place, just one stroke behind the leaders at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate at the Greenville Country Club.
Fellow freshman Katerina Vlasinova (Trebic, Czech Republic,) 73-78=151 and junior Charlotte Hindmoor (Darlington, England), 75-76=151 are tied for 23rd, eight strokes back. Jennifer Dilger of Winthrop (69-74=143) and Josefine Nyqvist (GRU-Augusta) are tied for first at -1.
Simmermacher leads the tournament with 12 birdies while she and Vlasinova tied for second in par 3 scoring (2.75)-1.
As a team, the Lady Monarchs are in fourth place (298-302=600), trailing only 33rd ranked Georgia Regents – Augusta (297-291=594) who leads the event by six strokes over Kennesaw State (302-292=594) and Georgia State is third (303-294=597). The final round is Tuesday.
