ODU Sailing wins at the MAISA Laser Elimination

Old Dominion Sailing competed in three events this past weekend including the MAISA Laser Elimination, the Saint Mary’s Fall Inter-Conference Regatta, and the Faye Bennet MAISA Women’s Singles.

Jeremy Herrin finished first out of 20 sailors, at the MAISA Laser Elimination hosted by Navy. He finished with two top-three’s. Andrew Baird, who had three top-three finished, tied for 8th with George Washington's Daniel DelBello. Joseph David came in 11th with two top-three's, and Ethan Lounsbury finished 12th with one top-five finish of eight races.

At the Saint Mary's Fall Inter-Conference regatta, the Monarchs finished 10th out of 18 teams. In the Division A races, Daniel Lochner and Colin Voigt finished ninth including two top-three finishes. Augie Dale and Katelyn Talley tied for ninth with the University of Wisconsin in the Division B boats and had one top-three finish.

Old Dominion finished fourth and 11th out of 18 boats in the Faye Bennet MAISA Women's Singles hosted by Navy. Sarah Streater tied for fourth with St. Mary's, Catherine Shaahan, and had three top-three's. Andrea Luna finished 11th with one top-five.

The Monarchs are back out on the water this weekend October 4-5, when they head to New London, CT for the Danmark Trophy, Annapolis for the MAISA Women’s Fall Dinghy Championships, and to the South Dinghy Fall Qualifier at St. Mary’s.
