Lady Monarchs Last Time Out – Fri. Aug. 29, VCU: 1  ODU: 1 (2OT)
In the first half, ODU junior defender Jordan Jones played a lead pass into senior captain Jessie Klamut, who beat VCU's keeper, Emma Kruse, with a shot that fed into the left side of the net giving Old Dominion a 1-0 lead just 6:31 into the match.

A VCU penalty kick in the 89th minute tied the match 1-1 and after two overtimes Old Dominion and Virginia Commonwealth played to a 1-1 stalemate last Friday night at the ODU Soccer Complex. For the second consecutive game, Old Dominion had their largest attendance since 2010, with the attendance being 679.

ODU head coach Angie Hind said after the match, “I thought we started really well and created some good opportunities in the early stages of the game. After losing the goal with one minute left in regulation time, many teams would have folded but I believe that we took the game to them in overtime and were the team most likely to score. For us and where we are at the moment, this was a great step.  We showed such character and togetherness throughout the match.”
