CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Four members of the Old Dominion University Sailing team earned academic honors from the Inter-collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) on Thursday morning, the ICSA announced.
A seven-person committee comprised of representatives from conferences in the ICSA evaluates the nominated sailors. The committee can select up to 10 scholar athletes for both the First and Second All-Academic Teams. This year, for the third time, the committee has also named an All-Conference Team. This team recognizes exemplary sailors who are also great representatives, but were not able to be included on the First or Second Teams.
Andrea Luna earned Second-Team honors with a 3.77 GPA while majoring in international business. The junior also earned All-American honors for her performance in the spring.
Rachel Austin, Jacob Spracher and Colin Voigt earned All-Conference accolades. Austin is an English major while Spracher is majoring in electrical engineering and computer engineering while Voigt is a fine arts/graphic design major.
