NORFOLK, Va. – University of Old Dominion women’s soccer coach Angie Hind announced the three players who will serve as the Lady Monarchs captains for the 2014 season: Jessie Klamut (Sr./Virginia Beach, Va.), Taylor Smith (Sr./Virginia Beach, Va.) and Alexis Thomas (Sr./Moon Township, Pa.).
Hind remarked, “I think it’s important for our team that we have senior players that we can look to this season to help guide the younger members of our squad. I believe Jessie, Taylor and Alexis bring different leadership qualities to this program and each are respected and trusted to help bring this group together in a way that will lay the foundations for a successful future. I personally know that they all have great passion for ODU women’s soccer and experience that will be valuable to the team this season. I am delighted to have them as captains leading our program this year.”
The Lady Monarchs will open their 2014 regular season at home this Fri. Aug. 22, against the Liberty Flames at 7:00 p.m.
