NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion junior lacrosse players Morgan Gallagher, Karen Hayde and Abby Johansen were named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Division I Academic Honor Roll that was announced recently.

The IWLCA honored 238 student-athletes from 80 different institutions with inclusion in the Academic Honor Roll.  All student-athletes were nominated by their schools and have achieved at least junior status academically and had a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. 

Gallagher reigns from West Chester, Pa. and is an interdisciplinary studies major at ODU.  Gallagher started in all 16 games as a midfielder for the Lady Monarchs, collecting 13 points on 11 goals and two assists.  She finished fourth on the team with 23 ground balls and third with 22 draw controls.  Gallagher also caused 15 turnovers throughout the season.

A native of Phoenixville, Pa., Hayde is majoring in biology at Old Dominion.  She saw action in 11 games, making eight starts last season.  Hayde finished the year with 44 saves and a 15.03 goals-against average and also caused two turnovers.  She highlighted her junior year making 12 saves against UC Davis and Virginia.

Hailing from Falls Church, Va., Johansen started in 14 games as a member of the Lady Monarchs defensive unit.  The political science major scooped up eight ground balls and caused seven turnovers last season.  She also helped the defense force 144 turnovers and 44 failed clears.
