Throughout fall camp ODUSports.com will do Q&A's with members of the Monarchs. Today's chat is with freshman cornerback, Lawrence Holley.
Q: When you came to Old Dominion on your recruiting trip, what was it about the school, fans or fellow players/coaches that made you decide to come here?
A: The coaches made it feel a lot like home and welcomed me when I came here. They promoted the school and program really well.
Q: What is your favorite book or series?
A: I would have to say the Harry Potter series are my favorite.
Q: Have you played a position other than cornerback before?
A: I played quarterback and wide receiver in high school.
Q: What event in your life help you decide to play or pursue a career in college football?
A: Probably when I was five years old my dad started me playing football and I fell in love with it young.
Q: Did any of your family play high school or collegiate athletics?
A: My mom played high school basketball and my dad played college football at West Virginia.
Q: What would a good theme song for your life be?
A: ‘Turn up’ by Jadakiss
Q: What is the biggest culture shock coming from Pennsylvania to Virginia?
A: Pretty much the weather. The weather is a lot hotter here.
Q: Which animal is your favorite to go see when at the zoo?
A: The lions.
Q: What are you most looking forward to when you run through the tunnel on game day?
A: Just to hear how loud the fans are and to be a part of the college football atmosphere.
Q: If you could do anything in the world without fear of failure what would you do?
A: Talk to Meagan Good (Actress).
Q: What is your favorite video game to play with your teammates?
A: Madden.
Q: Who is your role model or the person you look up to the most in life?
A: Allen Iverson. He is my favorite athlete.
Q: Do you have a pre-game ritual or routine that you do before every game?
A: I just put my headphones in and listen to a playlist of songs I have. You’ll find some Jadakiss, Chief Keef, and Curren$y.
Q: Who is your favorite NFL team? And is there a particular team that you love to root against?
A: My favorite NFL team is the Pittsburgh Steelers and I love to root against the Dallas Cowboys.
Q: What is your opinion of being a participant in the first Friday night football game at Old Dominion?
A: That’s exciting. It’s the first time ever doing it and it is exciting to be a part of it.
