HOLLY SPRINGS, NC.-- ODU Baseball Monarchs Taylor Ostrich and PJ Higgins have been selected to play in the 2014 Coastal Plain League All-Star game to be held in Morehead City, NC, July 13-14 at Big Rock Stadium. Both will play for the East All-Star squad.
In addition to the All-Star game, the Morehead City Marlins and Coastal Plain league will host a fan fest with live entertainment and home run derby (Ostrich will participate in) on the night of Sunday July 13. The All-Star game will take place on Monday, July 14.
Higgins is currently hitting .398 in 23 games with five doubles, two triples and 16 RBI with a .454 on base percentage. He will play secondbase. Ostrich is hitting .286 in 24 games with three doubles, three triples and a homer along with 15 RBI and a .429 slugging percentage. He will play firstbase.
