HASSELT, BELGIUM-- ODU incoming freshman Charlotte De Corte (Belgium) became the Champion of Flanders 2014 and winner of the Facilicom Amateur open of Flanders after shooting three under par (68-75-70=213). The tournament was held at the Flanders Nippon Golf & Business Club. De Corte won the championship by two strokes over Alicia Good.
Last week, De Corte fired 77-78=155(+7) in stroke play to qualify for the match play round at the Ladies British Open Amateur Championship at the Royal St. George’s Golf Club in Kent, England. She later lost to Hadas Libman of Israel 2 up.
De Corte, a native of Londerzeel, Belgium is the 2013 European Young Masters runner-up. She is a member of the Belgium National Team, finished second at the National Junior Championship, fourth at the Belgian International U18 and the Throphee des regions. In 2012. She won the Flanders Open and took second at the Grand Prix AFG, Belgian International U-18 and Federal Tour Grand Final and was the 2011 National Junior Champion as well as the top ranked U-16 player in Belgium that year.
