NORFOLK, Va. – On Wednesday, it was announced that Old Dominion University has 11 of its 18 intercollegiate sports teams earn a grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire 2013-14 academic year. The women’s soccer team led all teams at ODU for combined Fall and Spring academic success with a GPA of 3.28.
Also, 111 student athletes were named to the Spring Dean’s List with a GPA of 3.4 or higher, with 10 of those student-athletes coming from the women’s soccer team: Sara Brock, Nikki Clarke, Amber Cook, Jasmine Diaz, Carly Goldsborough, Grace Haverly, Kayla Hufford, Jessica Klamut, Meredith Lenox and Melanie Oakes.
Of those 10 ladies on Dean List for the Spring, four earned a perfect 4.0 GPA for both the most recent Fall and Spring semesters: Kayla Hufford, Jessica Klamut, Meredith Lenox and Melanie Oakes.
The women’s soccer team also led all teams at Old Dominion academically in the spring semester with a cumulative GPA of 3.30.
In May it was announced, that three ODU teams were recognized by the NCAA for their APR performances. The women’s soccer program was one of three teams that were honored for their outstanding performance for a multi-year APR score of 997.
