ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Old Dominion University coed sailing finished second in the Western Semifinals to qualify for the Gill Coed Dinghy National Championship which begin tomorrow at St. Mary's in Maryland.

The Monarchs had one of their strongest performances of the year, as the Division A boat of Esteban Forrer and Julia Wiesner took second place.  Out of the five races in the 18-team competition, the duo finished no worse than eighth, winning a pair of races and finishing the day with a fifth place finish.

In Division B, Andrea Lune and Chloe Constants finished in sixth place.  Lune and Constants started the day with a 12th place run, but followed with a fifth place and ended the day with two-straight third places to help ODU secure a tie for second with Bowdoin College.

The top nine teams from each semifinal qualified for the tomorrow's championship. Racing begins at 9:30 a.m.
