GULF SHORES, AL—ODU freshman Rachel Walker (Dumfries, Scotland) fired a 70 in the second round and is in fourth place after 36 holes of the 2014 Conference USA Women’s Golf Championships at the Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club.  The Lady Monarchs moved from sixth to third today, shooting 291 for a two-round score of 588.

Walker (72-70=142), who shot 72 in the first round is only five strokes behind the tournament leader, Fabiola Arriaga of UTSA (68-69=137).  Arriaga leads the field by three strokes over Tulanes Gemma Dryburgh (68-72=140).

Lady Monarch sophomore Charlotte Hindmoor (Darlington, England) shot 72 today to move up to 21st and is tied with fellow Lady Monarchs Kimberley Bradbury (Derbyshire, England)) and Elizabeth Haycock (Birmingham, England).  Senior Gemma Fuster (Barcelona, Spain) shot 74 and is tied for 32nd with a 152 score.

Fuster is tied for the best par three scoring today at 2.88 (-1), while Bradbury is third in par 4 scoring at 4.00 (E). Rachel Walker is seventh in birdies today with eight while Charlotte Hindmoor and Elizabeth Haycock had 25 pars.  The third and final round is Wednesday.
