IRVING, Texas – Nikki Clarke, Carly Goldsborough, Grace Haverly, Erin Kinz, Meredith Lenox and Melanie Oakes from the Old Dominion University women’s soccer team all earned Conference USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal during the 2013-14 academic year, as announced by Commissioner Britton Banowsky. Medals are given to those C-USA student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better.
For the fourth year in a row, Tulsa had the most academic medal winners with 63. Charlotte placed second with 43 on the list in conference-sponsored sports, ODU was next with 41 (ODU’s list also included non-C-USA sports of field hockey, wrestling, sailing and women’s lacrosse as well as league sports of baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, football, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s rowing and men’s and women’s swimming and diving), followed by North Texas with 37 and Southern Miss with 36.
