NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University football holds its annual Spring Game Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium.

This year the Monarchs will split into teams and play four, eight minute quarters.  The first and third quarters will be live tackle football while the second and fourth quarters will be played to thud.  The game will use normal scoring rules.

Taylor Heinicke will lead the White Team along with wide receivers Antonio Vaughan, Zach Pascal and Larry Pinkard on offense while the defense will be led by Preston Smith, Scott Wiggins and Jevon Neal

The Blue Team will be quarterbacked by David Washington and Colin McElroy, while January enrollees Jusse Yorke, Martez Simpson, Reece Schmidt, Torrez Wentz and Darius Garcia will also be on the Blue Team.

The scrimmage which will also be aired live on ESPN 94.1 FM. Admission to the spring game is Free. Following the scrimmage, the team will remain on the field for autographs.

There will also be a plethora of activities on ODU's campus this weekend.

The baseball team hosts East Carolina at 4 p.m., and concludes on Sunday with a 1 p.m. opening pitch. 

On Saturday, April 12, over 2,000 runners are expected to participate in the first Big Blue 5K and children's 1K. A limited number of spots remain for the races, which begin at 10:15 a.m by Foreman Field at SB Ballard Stadium. The 5K course winds through campus and the athletic venues, ending at the 50-yard line in the football stadium.

The annual Big Blue Bar-B-Que, which celebrates the men's basketball team's success, will kick off at noon in the silver lots next to Foreman Field. Tickets to the event are $20 through Friday at www.YNottix.com, and $25 at the event. Race participants are admitted free to the Bar-B-Que.  The men's tennis team will take on William and Mary at noon on Saturday at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis center in an important Optima Health Challenge match, and the field hockey program will host an alumni game at 12:30 pm at the LR Hill Complex.

All Big Blue Bar-B-Que ticket holders and race participants will be admitted to the baseball game on Saturday (4 p.m.) with proof of their BBQ ticket, and Big Blue 5K race participants guests are $3 per person. In addition, 5K participants can pick up their race packets on Friday, April 11 from 5-7 p.m. at the Bud Metheny Baseball complex and will be admitted free to the game that evening.
