Lacrosse Heads to Davidson Tuesday

NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion women's lacrosse team will travel to Davidson College this Tuesday at 6 p.m. from Richardson Stadium.

Old Dominion (3-8) suffered an 18-17 setback loss to Virginia Tech last Saturday. Junior midfielder Christina Rea scored five goals, while senior attacker Emily Austerberry and junior midfielder Ashmore Standing each scored four goals, but was not enough as ODU fell by one goal.

ODU senior defender Kallie McCormick leads the Lady Monarchs with 25 ground balls, while Austerberry leads ODU with 27 draw controls, 26 goals and 36 points on 54 shots.

Series Record: First ever meeting

Davidson Players to Watch: Senior attacker Ann Fucigna leads Davidson with 13 goals and 20 points. Junior attacker Emily Cooke just became Davidson's all-time career leader in assists as she has 15 this season. Sophomore midfielder Emma Sissman has 34 draw controls and has caused seven turnovers. Senior defender Paige Logan leads the WIldcats with 22 ground balls. Junior goaltender Katy Boyle is 3-5 with a 10.25 goals against average and has a .414 save percentage.

Scouting the Wildcats: Davidson has won their last two games, having scored a combined 26 goals (15 and 11). The Wildcats defeated Elon 15-8, and earned an 11-8 win against Saint Francis. Fucigna led the way with five goals in the win against Saint Francis.
